Answers:
Almost certainly!. You need to see a dentist pronto because a gum abcess can be an indication of an infected tooth root!. This will need root canal treatment or you could not only loose the tooth but also infect the jaw-bone!. Don't delay - get treatment at once!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it was caused by an infection!. An abscess is a limited area of pus formed as a result of a bacterial infection!.

This infection CAN spread and it is quite common that you will experience a fever and other flu like symptoms as a result!. You need to see a dentist or visit an Urgent Care center immediately and get on a steady course of antibiotics, and possibly even pain medication depending on the severity of the abscess!.

In the meantime, utilize an over the counter anti-inflammatory like Advil or Motrin (these are both Ibuprofen and if you are over the age of 13, you can take up to 800mg of Ibuprofen!. In other words, four 200mg Ibuprofen pills)!. Also, rinse your mouth 3 times daily with equal parts Hydrogen Peroxide & water and BRUSH, BRUSH, BRUSH!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Almost certainly!. Your tonsils (if you have them) are a powerful part of your immune system and will cause a reaction to foreign bodies that will be stronger when they become infected than a reaction otherwise would!. Also, your body will create a stronger response when it is more irritated (broken skin) and when a foreign body gets into the bloodstream!. (as it probably did when this pustule burst)

Your body suddenly saw in many different places an invader that WAS only in a small area!.!.!.!.since fever is the body's "whole body" attempt to make life difficult for invading bacteria/viruses, once the germs were outside of a confined area, your body went on a major offensive, and spent it's resources fighting off the infection!.

I tend to disagree with the idea that infections cannot be effectively fought by the immune system!. Your fever response and fatigue indicate your body really pulled out some big guns on this one!. If the fever is broken, and you now feel fine, you may not need antibiotics!.!.!.!.however, I do agree that you should be seen by a dentist!. There may be some easily repaired cause of this problem that can be fixed by a dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The problem with a gum abscess is, without antibiotics, it won't actually go away!. You may think it's gone now because the swelling has gone down but the infection is still there!. It'll keep coming back until you've seen a dentist and had it taken care of!. If you haven't gone to a Dentist yet, I would suggest going a!.s!.a!.p!.

If you let it go for too long, the infection can spread to other major organs, even your brain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You probably have an infection and are in need of antibiotics!. I have only had one in my life and I had to take 10 days of antibiotics to help get rid of infection (after it busted)!. Infections of the mouth can get in your blood stream and kill you!. I am not trying to be all serious--but okay I am!. People die from that!. Go to a dentist or doc and get some meds!. You would not have a fever without an infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, Call the dentist and make an appointment!. You need to deal with that!. You can get a blood infection or have other complications if you let it go!. The dentist will give you some antibiotics and make another appointment to fix your tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
