Does a tooth exposure operation hurt?!

Question: Does a tooth exposure operation hurt!?
i'm 15 and my teeth take a very long time to come in!. my one top 12 year molar is not in yet, all my other teeth(not wisdom yet) and i have to have that tooth exposed tomorrow!. i'm just having a local anesthetic and he said i have to have the gum cut and then a thin bone layer has to be taken away so that the tooth can be exposed!. i've had local anesthetic before for fillings(from my dentist) and i can still feel pain!. this a different doctor and he is an oral surgeon!. he said that it wouldn't hurt!.

does the procedure hurt!? that is my main question because i know that no one likes pain but i just dont want it too painful because it is just such a terrible way to start the summer!.

thanks for answering(if u do)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just had this done for a canine tooth that was impacted in my gum!. It shouldn't hurt!! It may give you a bit of discomfort after the surgery, but if you stick to painkillers (and take one just before the anesthetic wears off- around 2-4 hours after surgery) it should be fine!
If you have had local anesthetic before and it hurt, make sure you let them know! If you do feel any twinge of pain while they're working on you- don't speak, just put your hand up, and they'll stop immediatley and inject you with some more!! (I had six injections once, as it just wasn't working!.!.!. but they kept doing it until it worked!)

Also, a good idea- if you're anxious, is to ask for Nitrous Oxide- which is Happy Gas! It's a gas that doesn't so much take pain away (but the local does, so it doesn't really matter), but it totally calms you down!. After the second breath off the stuff you'll feel totally relaxed!.

The procedure itself wont hurt!. You will feel a little pressure (like someone holding onto your tooth) but there'll be no pain when the local kicks in! Pressure of a drill, which I presume you've had before due to fillings, is pretty much the worst you'll feel during the procedure!.
Don't worry! You'll be fine :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

honestly, i haven't had an exposure!. but i have assisted with exposures before!. our patients come back saying it wasn't that bad 80% of the time!. if you have a hard time getting numb, let the oral surgeon know that and tell him that you will raise your hand if you feel any pain and that you want more novocaine!. you may be sore for a few days, but that is normal!. you will be fine for the summer!. hope this helps!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

im having the same thing done in august, but i have had oral surgery before they had to get a tooth out of my gums!. it doesnt hurt till a few hours after the surgery!. my oral surgen gave me laughing gas to relax me, the next day is the worse because you arent numb or anything!. but by the third day you get use to it and you feel a little discomfort!. it wont ruin your summer i promise!. It doesn't hurt, just swelling afterwards!. Did it on my front tooth!. However my tooth didn't make it, i had to do a second surgery on the tooth after braces, but the tooth died!. The oral surgeon told me it should be removed!. didn't listen because it is my front tooth, now i regret not listening to him!. I am going to have to put in back braces because my bite shifted (causing great discomfort) after trying to restore the tooth with a crown!. I am going to also have the tooth removed!. Good luck i hope everything works out fineWww@Answer-Health@Com
