Dentist help?!

Question: Dentist help!?
Hey there, so I've never had a problem with the dentist, I love it there actually, but I have a small cavity that needs to be filled, so I'm going to dot hat today, I have a choice of either using "Laughing gas!." Or novacaine with numbing gel!. I think i'm going to do the laughing gas, just because I hate needles, and I have panic attacks around them!.

So what one do you think would be better!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Emily,
I use laughing gas, or nitrous oxide, in my dental office!. It is not used instead of novocaine, but rather, in addition to novocaine!. Laughing gas tends to make patients feel like they are floating, and makes them feel very relaxed, but it will not "numb" your teeth and gums for dental procedures!. You do not go to sleep, and can still talk to the dental team!. I usually use it for patients who are anxious about having dental procedures done!. It tends to help make the appointment pass by more easily for them!. If you have a choice, use the laughing gas!. It will really help!.

FYI *Laughing gas may not be used by women who are, or think they may be pregnant!.*Www@Answer-Health@Com

Laughing gas takes the edge off!. Its almost like having a few drinks without the hangover!. Its goes away quickly!. If you hate needles try the gas!. Also if you have a mp3 player bring that with you!. Use it while the dentist is drilling!.!.you wont hear the drill as bad!. You can groove on the music and groove on the gas and after its all done you can walk away feeling good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it is a really, really small cavity, the dentist might not need to do anything at all, but if they say you need something for the pain i suggest the Novocaine because i promise you won't feel a thing, and the needle will not bother you if the dentist injects you correctly and if you do feel pain then maybe you should find a new dentist!.!.good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

In our office we use all three! Laughing gas to relax our nervous patients and then the numbing gel to numb the gum (it does nothing to numb the tooth) and then the lidocaine injection!. That is what gets rid of any discomfort!.
I'd rather have a needle for a second or two than to have the fear that it's going to hurt!. Makes me way too tense, that waiting for it to hurt and when it does! It's not fun!.
Take the shot and relax!. You'll do just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I love the laughing gas!. If you are worried about it!.!.!. here is what you do!. Get the laughing gas and if it starts to hurt tell the doc and he will numb you!. You won't feel the injection because you will be high off nitrous!. Its a win-win situation!
Good Luck today!Www@Answer-Health@Com
