Hi there!! My name is Angela and I am an Intern Dentist!.
Well if your instructions say to rinse for a week, then do as it says!. However, are you having pain on any of the extraction sites!? Did your dentist apply any "Stitches"!? Sweetie, it is not that it does not matter anymore after a week!. The instructions are basically to help you through the most sensitive part of your recovery period, and 7days is the expected healing time!. However, your dentist will expect you to call him if any problems arise during your post op, which can be, Increased pain, swelling, or any other unusual symptoms!. So if everything is OK, and you are healing well, then that is something to be happy about!. If you are experiencing any symptoms, then I suggest you call your dentist ASAP!. As for the salt water, if you are healed, then it is OK to stop rinsing!. But many people rinse with salt water to help the extraction sites, well up to 2wks, even if they appear to be healed!. There is nothing wrong with rinsing with salt water, even if nothing is wrong!. So, if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to contact me via e-mail, and I will be more than happy to assist you! And if you are experiencing problems-Call your Dentist!!!!! I hope this answer helped you some!.!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

THE USE OF A SALT WATER WASH IS UNTIL THE WOUNDS ARE CLOSED AND HEALED IS VERY IMPORTANT!.
WHY!?
BECAUSE IT'S IMPORTANT TO HAVE THE TISSUES WHICH ARE HEALING ARE BACTERIA FREE AND THE SALT MAKES IT HARD FOR BACTERIA TO BREED!. THIS IS WHY SALTING MEATS PRESERVED THEM!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
