Question: Told by my dentist i need these things done, what exactly are they!?
Ok so i went to the dentist today for the first time in nearly 2 years!. And he told me i needed the following done:
Scale and polish
1 single surface amaalgam filling LL6
1 composite filling UR1
1 composite fissure sealant UL5
I was just wondering, what are they!? And what exactly do they involve, also what do they treat and how can i stop whaterever caused them in the first place coming back!.

Scale and polish is getting tartar scraped of your teeth!.
1 single surface amalgam filling LL6 - is a silver filling on the bitting surface of your lower left 1st molar!.
1 composite filling UR1- is a white filling on your right top front tooth!.
1 composite fissure sealant UL5 - is a protective filling which shouldnt involve any drilling, its a bit like putting on nail varnish!. It will protect the tooth & hopefully you wont need a bigger filling in the future!.
You will be numbed for the fillings so it wont hurt!
