I've had mine for almost five years however i have heard this before mainly if u wear a metal one it can chip away the enamel on your teeth while ur sleeping!. To prevent this i wear plastic ones (metal bar/plastic ball)!. I also take it out every day and soke it in listerine while brushing my teeth i also use a tonngue scraper and scrape the germs off my tongue and gargle listerine then i put it back in my mouth and occasionally i may wait a few days in between takin it out but i make sure i brush my teeth and tongue and gargle and i havnt had any problems at all!. But if u get sick or catch a cold take it out because plaque build on the bottom of it when ur sick!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have heard they can damage the anamel on the back of your teeth where the tounge ring rubs, but im sure if you brush very well everyday, 2 times a day, front and back of your teeth you should be protecting your teeth enough for it not to damage your teeth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had a tongue ring for over 12 years and I can assure you it has not done anything bad to my mouth what so ever!. However, if a dentist is telling you its bad, ask him what is bad about it!? Is he saying it causes bacteria in your mouth!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

they are bad for dental health depending on a lot of stuff!.!.!.

as long as you brush your teeth and stuff you wont have a big problem bacteria wise, but theres chances of chipping teeth and other things too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
