Answers:
have her brush to a song she likes!. if she loves hannah montana, make it fun and tell her to brush as long as the song is playing (that makes it over the recommended 2 mintues)!. If you dont want to be annoyed by the rock concert in your bathroom, i suggest you purchase tooth tunes!. It is a mechanical toothbrush that plays the music while the brush is on, and only your child can hear it through her mouth!. you can purchase them at many stores such as walmart etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Use blackmail!. Find out what she wants, then take it away each time until she does what she is supposed to do!. Eventually it will become habit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I tell my son to brush his teeth each night!. My son knows who the boss in the house is and he doesn't question everything I tell him to do!. If you're having trouble getting a 10 year old to brush her teeth when she's told, then I feel for you when she gets older!. You should have put your foot down years ago!.

I never said anyone was a bad parent!. I said that if you can't get a 10 year old to listen to you then you're definately going to have problems when the child gets older!. You've proven that point because you can't get your 12 year old to do anything either!.
Sure, every kid goes through a stage when they don't want to listen to their parents, but we as parents should be there to make sure that they do listen to us!. Children have to know that they are not the ones in charge!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was going to ask you to let me know when you find out because my 12 to is the same way!. She hasn't had a cavity yet, but she will not take the time to brush her teeth!. She is almost 13 and gets up every morning and straightens her hair, puts on a little bit of make-up, but WILL not brush her teeth and lies about it and says she does!. Then I saw that first answer and think that should get BA!. That picture is NASTY!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck though!. I am at a loss!.

EDIT: Contrary to some people's belief (zil28ennov), it doesn't mean you're a bad parent if your child doesn't listen to you!. I think they all go through the not listening phase!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Explain to her!. Be consistent!. Praise her !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tell her you'll knock her teeth out if she doesn't!. They'll be just as useless if you don't!.!.!.!.lol just kidding!.!. Take away her shampoo and soap for bathing, and say this is what your teeth feel like!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are a few ways you can do this!.
1!. Lead by example!. Make a certain time of the evening "toothbrush time"!. Both of you go into the bathroom and brush your teeth!. That way, there's no way she can laze out of it!.
2!. Punishment!. If she doesn't brush her teeth and the result is another cavity the next time your at the dentist, she gets grounded!. No TV, social activities, sweets for a month, until she starts brushing!.
3!. Bribery!. Every time she brushes, she gets a gold star!. Tally up the stars and once she has reached 50, she gets a reward (like a CD or dvd, or even a trip out somewhere fun)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
