Ok. I have posted other questions about this. But I was wondering is it better to wait until the piercing has healed and then take it out or go ahead and take it out now? My husband said I should wait until it has healed and I have read that you should wait. So if anyone knows what they are talking about please let me know. And I already know it was stupid to do so please do not start lecturing me.

You can take it out now. First rinse your mouth with Listerine for 30 seconds to sanitize your mouth. Remove the barbell and sanitize your mouth again. Continue rinsing with Listerine after everything you do (smoking, eating, drinking) until it is healed. To help prevent infection do not kiss or have oral sex until it is healed. If it becomes infected see your doctor immediately.
