well normally the human mouth produces 600ml of saliva daily the salivation is increased if you are masticating(chewing) ,talking or you are suffering from stomach acidity. as saliva is alkaline it tends to neutralize the acidity
when people yawn they are expelling carbon dioxide which is acidic and when people sleep there oral cavity also becomes acidic due to microbial activity and lack of saliva production
people yawn usually after they wake up from sleep as carbon dioxide is being expelled and the mouth is also acidic the salivary glands go into overdrive and produce a large quantity of saliva
thats the reason why there is more saliva in your mouth when you yawn
i only have it when i yawn sometimes
we call it 'gleek'
???never heard of that???
it is definatley NOT your saliva glands. It is more likely the way the your tongue is articulating with the soft tissue around it, forcing saliva out at high pressure.
