What can you tell me about braces?!

It'll hurt a lot the first day. But it's not unbearable pain. It just makes your teeth ache and very sensitive if they are to touch together. Your gums hurt a bit on the first day. You mouth will be sore for probly a full week and eventually you wouldn't even remember what life was like without braces.
Also, the orthodontist should give you some wax to put on the sharp metal parts of your braces. (Don't worry their not jagged pieces of metal that tear away the flesh) But it does irritate the inside of your cheeks. So talking and smiling will become painful if the skin keeps rubbing against the metal. But if you use the wax to cover up the metal, you won't even feel it. And the wax is easily removable.
When you get them. Take it with a "possitive attitude."
Buy a couple of shirts, that say: "Tin grin's are in." <}:-})
They don't hurt. Almost everyone now a days either had them, or has them. They are fun because you can pick the colours every month!

The first week you will be thinking "why did I get these stupid things put on" but after that you will get used to them. Just follow what your orthodontist tells you and you will be fine. Ask lots of questions if you have them. And I can't stress enough do what the Dr. Tells you EXACTLY as he tells you.

I agree with the one answer (why did i get these stupid things on)). Cuz you will be in pain the first few days. I know I thought that very question!!
It's a foreign object in your mouth taking up space. It's added pressure on your gums & teeth. Anyone who says it doesn't hurt, thats strange to hear.
Your inside of your lips & cheeks will fill like its being cut (which it kinda is cuz they are adjusting to the braces rubbing on them.)
You'll live & get thru it tho :-)
the end result is sooooo worth it!
