What does it mean if I have a painful sore under my tongue is it mouth cancer?!
Question: Hello, Let me tell you that is a great question. During my 42 years in the dental field I had a number of patients come in for various dental services and in the course of the oral examination I found sores and in some cases open lesions. When I asked the patient about the pain they must be having from them, I learned that when the patients said they didn't have pain, I immediately got concerned and sent them for a biopsy. Several biopsy results came back positive for Cancer. So the fact you have pain is in my book a good thing..however we never get complacent about such things,There are other health issues that can become very serious if not diagnosed and treated promptly. See a dentist or MD ASAP. Good luck and I wish you well.

No it is probley just a canker sore in your mouth from acid which comes from juices cokes..etc no need to worry
Answerer number one is probably right. You can get camphophenic OTC medicine. If you put it on it every day it will go away. I used to get canker sores all the time.
A sore on the tongue can sometimes be a symptom of ibd (irritable bowel disease)
