What is the proper way to clean your retainer after it falls in a trash can?!
Question: i need to know cause i accidentally dropped in a school lunch room trash can. ew.
i retrieved it and now i need to clean it. any help?

JUST DROP INTO A SMALL BOWL WITH LUKEWARM WATER AND A DENTURE CLEANING TABLET FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR.
Rubbing alcohol, or a soak in some hydrogen peroxide (for at leat 10 minutes or so) should kill anything.
Be sure to rinse them off with some water before using it again though.
DO NOT PUT IT IN BOILING WATER!!! If you put it in boiling water, it will melt and the shape will change and you'll have to pay to get it replaced. Use hot water, hot enough to touch, and anti-bacterial or good dish soap. Good Luck!!!! And don't drop it in the trash anymore.
The denture cleaning stuff works. Put those tablets in water and then put the retainer in. That's what I do and did with mine. I've dropped it in the trash also. If you don't have this stuff you can buy it cheap at a drugstore. It's good to have cause in all... The retainer starts to stink so you clean it.
I'd go with the doctor.
