Vicodin is the same thing as lortab, only the Tylenol in it is getting upped from 500mg to 750 so, you shouldn't see any difference. They're both Hydrocodone.
I would rather have the Tylenol w/codeine. They work better for me, and they don't make me nauseous like vicodin does. But, everyone is different. Ask your dentist what he/she thinks will do the trick. They might not give them to you. I also get 600mg Ibuprofen.
My suggestion to you, chew them up. It tastes bad, but it works immediatley on the pain! Definately eat something if you decide to do this, due to possible stomach troubles.
Hate to tell you this, but very little touches a really bad toothache. Vicodin ES is probably about the strongest you're going to be able to get, anyway, so try it and see. How soon will they pull the tooth for you? That's the only thing going to stop the pain.

Mike, I take the exact same med for pinched nerves in my back. I take 2 a day trying to limit myself so I don't get addicted. I take them 12 hours apart. My doctor told me to fill in at about the 8 hour mark with extra strength Tylenol if needed. Good luck
Tell your dentist about the headache conditions and ask him/her to do something about it. If they have any competence at all, they will shave away at your teeth that are grinding together until they don't grind. GRINDING IS THE MAIN SOURCE OF HEADACHES THAT HAVE TOOTH RELATED SYMPTOMS. I personally don't like to use much medicine as painkillers. Ibuprofen works though when it gets unbearable.
Thats what I got for Wisdom tooth extractions. Seemed to work well for me for about 2-3 hours. It made me feel really sleepy though.
