Wisdom tooth recovery, advice and prayers.?!

Question: Hi All,

I am trying to figure out if my recovery is going normal. On Friday, I had all 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed. ( all turned sideways, one wrapped around a nerve) Friday I bleed but felt pretty good.
Yesterday was a bit rough had vomiting due to the pain medication felt sick at my stomach and my teeth (all of them) were uncomfortable and the bottom extraction sites were sore.
Today I am still oozing blood, seems to be pink not red. Pain is being controled my regular tylenol, some aching left in one of my sites, about a 2 or 3 on a 1-10 scale and I am VERY tired sleeping a lot.
Does this seem about normal to you all? Also could you please say a prayer for my continued recovery. Thanks and a blessed Easter to you all.

I had my wisdom teeth out a few months ago, and i went through the exact same thing you are going through. i also was vomitting the day of and the day after the surgery, and i bled for a few days afterward before it stopped. i put gauze back at the sites of the teeth and bit down on it for most of the day to stop the bleeding. and i also slept alot. probably for about 4 or 5 days after the surgery i was sleeping on and off through out the day. so everything you are going through sounds totally normal!!

It is better to review with your dentist and make sure that your blood counts and bleeding parameters are within normal limits.

yes its all normal... ironically i got mine out Friday also. there was some bleeding but not bad Friday night,Saturday i was oozing some blood pink just like yours.. and today its almost gone I'm craving food like crazy but of course its all stuff i cant have yet... some food is already stuck in the holes but a light rinse gets it all out.. i was really scared before the surgery but I'm alright now.... i didn't get sick from my medicine , they have prescribed me vicodin and Motrin 800 but i haven't really needed them .... so yea everything is normal just take it easy and everything will be fine.... i hope you have a speedy recovery and a great Easter! god bless

This sounds very normal. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out when I was 18. Even though I was strong and healthy I was very tired for several days. This type of surgery will really affect your body. As long as the bleeding is lessening there should be no problem. If you do develop fresh bleeding call you dentist. If you are concerned about anything else you can call your dentist and talk to him or his assistant.

yes i had my impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed a year and a half ago and on the thrid day i was still laying down and sleeping. if you want to calm down the pain with out meds, try getting two tube socks and putting a flexable ice pack in both tying a knot in the ends. then pin the other ends together and you can tie the socks above your head and it will keep the swelling and the pain down.

Its normal. The first twoto three days are rough .You should be feeling much better by tomorrow. If not, phone your dentist. The two things to worry about are dry sockets and infection. You will definitely know if you have the former. The dentist should have given you antibiotics for the second.
