Is it always necessary to get your wisdom teeth removed?!

Question: Why do they remove wisdom teeth anyway?

Answers: Why do they remove wisdom teeth anyway?

most people's jaws are just too small to allow room for those big ol' wisdom teeth- also known as 18-yr molars. They are removed if there is no room for them, if they are growing in sideways (they do that because there's no room for them to come up straight and they turn trying to find a way to get out) or if they are causing pain. Many times they are surgically cut out because the problems happen before they break through. If they are through the gum, they are simple pulled out. Since they are large teeth, there is a little more problem with their extraction and then with the recovery time after.

No. I still have 3/4 of mine at 61.

No. Some people have theirs removed because they grow at an angle (or inwards) which either creates pain or distorts speech. Otherwise - they usually do not have to be removed.

Most of the time they just get in the way. But you can have real bad headaches from the pressure they put on your jaw

nah, their removed sometimes so they dont cause pain or crooked teeth

I am 50 and have all of mine, if they don't hurt, why bother??

It's very simple. If you don't have room for your wisdom teeth it needs to be remove other wise it can cause you a lot of pain when the the wisdom tooth is trying to come out and pushing all the other teeth around it However if you have room for it, it won't cause you any pain and there's no reason to have them extracted.
