Floss question?!

Question: When I floss my teeth, sometimes the floss will shread a little. I use Reach. I go back and redo the area but is tiny pieces of floss bad in between your teeth. I think I get it all out but not sure.

This used to happen to me all the time and drive me nuts. I just try to make sure I used waxed floss now - it shreds a lot less easily, you might have to try different brands until you figure out works for you - I usually use Crest. If your teeth are so tight that it still shreds, try to use those little pre-made flosser things. The floss is stretched super tight and is really strong, plus it hurts your fingers less. If your teeth are very tightly packed together, this might be the way to go for you!

there's a photo of the pre-made flosser thing, I'm not sure what the official name of these is. They make fancier ones too of course, this is just the basic/cheap version.

Definitly try switching to a new floss. It shouldn't shread that much. I don't necessarily think it is bad for teeth, but definitly probably uncomfortable. Things that are bad for in between your teeth is anything that can decay... but I don't think floss would do harm.

I have very tight teeth and have found the only floss to work well for me is Crest Glide. It will fit in between teeth very well without breaking and irritating gums.
