Question: i had a fake tooth put in years ago dont know what its called but its got a metal pole that goes into my gum anyway the tooth has came out and the hole in my gum is disgusting it smells and taste so bad how will i get rid of it??

not a dentist but my husband had a similar problem as this. THe rod is a titanium rod most likely.. The hole probly starts to smell funny and taste wierd because there is food up there just rotting away. Food can get in the creavaces in our mouths and thats what can give you that horrible taste and smell. YOu need this plastic tube that has a plastic like needle on the end. ALl you have to do is shoot water up there to rinse it out. YOu can use listerine if you want. My suggestion is stop by a dentist office or even an oral surgeons and ask for this plastic thing. It works really well!! Good luck!

you need to see a dentist. chances are you had a crown put on that tooth and its infected. . . .
You have an infection. Go to the dentist. In the meantime, breath mints.
