a retainer only keeps your teeth in place. if you have braces and then have them taken off, the orthodontist makes a mold of your teeth and gives you a retainer to wear and keep your teeth straight, because without braces they might move back to where they were. retainers RETAIN the shape of your mouth (get it?)

you have an overbite, which means that to fix it you need your top teeth to shift backwards. since a retainer doesn't actually move your teeth (at all), you would need some other kind of work.

unless by retainer you mean invisalign (the clear plastic retainer that fits directly over your teeth) that changes slightly every month and moves your teeth like braces..but that is only for teeth that are slightly crooked and aren't severe enough for braces

to fix an overbite, you'd usually need to get braces and have rubberbands on the top connected to the bottom, to pull your teeth backwards. or headgear, which is for more dramatic shifting of your jaw. it all depends on how bad your overbite is and what kind of work you need done

go see an orthodontist, but a retainer is probably not what you need.

GO to a dentist, only professional help can answer that question.

Overbite has various degrees. And also It can be of upper teeth or lower teeth.Your age is only 14. You have to do any corrections only after thorogh diagnosis by your dentist.
