How do you get rid of canker sores? Is there even a way?!
Question: i have this horrible canker sore and want to rid of the horrid beast. is there a way to get rid of it? i searched some site and they said "there is no way" but 2 ways to slow them down came up. BAKING SODA AND SALT. do those work?

These are canker sores on your gums or inside your mouth, right?
This is how I get rid of them. Overnight.
what you need: Q tip swab and hydrogen peroxide and about 5 seconds of pain.
dip the q tip into the hydrogen peroxide til it's soaked. Then literally grind it in a circular motion into the canker sore. I know "OWWW" but as you swirl it onto the sore, it'll turn white and look much bigger than it originally was...Dont worry, it only hurts like hell for about 5 seconds. You have to get it so the sore and the surrounding tissue gets white, so 5-10 seconds. THEN you're done. By morning it'll mostly be gone and it really wont hurt much past the original swabbing.

Kanka is awesome, you can get it at a drug store. It forms a seal over the sore, plus it has like a novocaine type drug in it. For real, it is an AWESOME product.
I use Campho-Phenique on mine. I apply it to the canker sore(s) often during the day & at bedtime. Abrevia is a good medicine to use also, but it's costly.

Treatment of Canker sore is pretty much palliative, something to relief symptoms until ulcer heal by it self.
Orajel works great as it will numb the canker sore alleviating some of the the pain temporarily till the ulcer heals, and it's over the counter as well, no need for prescription.
Other suggested treatment would be topical corticosteroids. ask your dentist for Betamethasone syrup or 0.01% Dexamethasone Elixir.
If the pain is not that bad, I would simply cope with it until it heals on it's own, if it gets really bad try the Orajel.

I put salt directly on mine- it hurts like hell but it's cheap and dries it out fast!
first you Take a Q-tip and put hydrodine poroxide and put it on your sore then take some warm water with salt and swoosh around your mouth then what you do is put some water on a q-tip and put salt on it and put it on the canker sore then really quickly take some orejel maximum strength gel and put it on there so you dont have to feel the pain
