Was it me or the dentist?!

Question:

Was it me or the dentist?

Just had a filling done at the dentist and afterwards they told me that I bit my lip, I looked and saw a black hole on inside of lower lip, since when does it go black when you bite your lip? Did maybe they burn me with the drill instead? Woke up next day and now still a hole and also have two what look like little blisters near the hole, searched the net might be canker sores, was this caused by the dentist? What should I do? I'm a little pissed off cos don't quite believe I bit my lip, how would I if my mouth is open while they work on my teeth and if I did shouldn't they have paid attention to what's going on in my mouth?

Answers:

People biting their lips can happen sometimes when they are doing dental work, and their lips are numb.

The best thing would be for the dentist to say it as soon as it happened, and show it to the patient.

Lips can also be very dry, and irritated after dental work because the dentist has to pull on them in order to see better.

It is however possible that your dentist touched it with the burr and was dishonest, as we never know.

I am a dentist, it happened to me twice in 10 years because they jumped from fear, and I told the patient right away.

Either way, your black hole in your lip will be gone by 7 to 14 days. I wouldn't worry about it.
