Post wisdom tooth question?!

Question: My wife had her lower left wisdom tooth removed almost two weeks ago.

She got a dry socket and we had been see the dentist to get medicated packs. He took her off those today.

Yesterday, her ear started ringing really loud, but its better now.
Doc said not to worry.

Tonight, her chest below her collarbone hurts quite badly along with her neck.

What are we to do now?
Anything we can do to ease the pain?
Anything she should or shouldn't drink?

Does this sound ordinary?

Thanks for any help.

My suggestion is to call the ER doctor on-call and get his advice or get off here NOW and get to the ER. The chest area below the collarbone is the area most commonly associated with a heart attack. The fact that the pain is radiating up into her neck is another classic sign. She could also have radiation into her jaw, arm/s or back. If you have aspirin, get her to take 1-2, 81 mg tablets and then go to the hospital. Is she short of breath? Is she sweating bad? Is she nauseated, vomiting? Is she feeling faint, dizzy? Is her heart rate regular...not rapid or irregular in rhythm? Take note of her symptoms so you can tell the doc. You really shouldnt be on here, you should be either picking up the phone or headed to the ER.

She needs to be seen by a doctor, just to be sure. Make sure to give her 1-2 aspirins. Now, get off of Y!A and get movin!

sometimes when a dry socket occurs it can cause pain in other areas of the head and neck, use warm compresses and an anti-inflammatory 600mg. is the protocol. and this should begin to releive the discomfort, if not seek help from your oral surgeon, immeditaly.

Has she been taking antibiotics? If not, that would be a question to ask. Sounds like an infection that has spread.

i'd think about getting a second opion from your regular doc. something just dont seem right .

It hurts with or without dry socket. She shouldn't worry. I took Vicodin when I got all four of mine pulled. Yeah, not so easy to get.

I would be worried about infection, does she have a fever?
Go ahead and call the doc back tomorrow!

Get a new doc...Or meet up with a specialist at private hospital...This will be better...
