How long do white dental fillings last?!

Question: For most people, they can easily last 10 years. Most people need fillings replaced b/c their oral hygiene/diet is not good enough and a new cavity develops around the filling, this can happen in as little as 6 months. If you chew a lot of hard things, like ice or grind or clench your teeth, this can wear these fillings much faster than silver/amalgam fillings and break them down within 3-5 years. Amalgam fillings hold up much better to large amounts of pressure from grinding and chewing ice.

Not sure on exatly how long they last but mine have been in for about 10 years and going strong!!

Usually it will last for 5-12 years. It depends upon whether you bite on the repaired surface or if its just on the front or side of the tooth. Because is you bite on the white repaired area, it will wear faster than the tooth naturally. Also it stains faster, so you will have to keep it cleaner.

composit fillings usually last longer than amalgam fillings. they don't crack and separate from the tooth like amalgam. as far as how long they will last i think that just really depends on how well you care for them and if you've had any sort of trama to the tooth or not.

It depends on what you eat, how good of a job was done on your teeth, and the quality of material used. White dental filings are made of Ceramic mainly. If they are of good quality, and you treat them well, they should last over 20 years! Just refrain from eating too hot and too cold stuff at the same time, don
