The regular wires can adjust the up and down of the teeth and the rubber bands bring in an overbite.

I think at one point I had eight rubber bands to keep track of. The more they bring in your teeth the more often you have to go in to have the ends of the wires snipped. The wires come out the back and poke the back of your jaw. Ouchy

The other thing that can happen is you are talking to someone and they end up shooting out of your mouth at them.

The little bands had other uses at times though...

they ae used to help the jaw put more presure on the teeth to pull them back usually for severe case i'm going to get them

Trust me, it's no fun wearing the rubber bands.
I swallowed about 30 (or more) when I had to wear them for 3 months. (my poo came out like a rock! constipation~)
It is suppose to pull your upper and lower jaw closer together so that it allignes properly.

ugh, u DON'T want them - the most annoying things ever! they're for something with your jaw, so your top and bottom teeth line up properly. really, so annoying!

Are you kidding me. They are terrible, but they are for people who have jaw problem like me. Now i am online wearing my retainer and 5 rubber bands, i can't even open my mouth and it hurts a lot, lucky you ... you don't have to use it.
