I'm having one in the morning...my first root canal.
When you had a root canal, how did it go?
What kind of drugs did you get?
Did it hurt DURING the procedure?
Tell me everything you can, PLEASE.
I'm so nervous.

Unfortunately, I had very bad teeth and had many root canals. The procedure is not painful at all! I always had very good dentists. It takes a while, you will have a long sit in the chair, so it's boring but not painful. If you feel any pain at all during the procedure, tell the dentist and he/she will give you more Novocaine. I always filled my pain med prescription but never, ever had to use it afterward. I just went home afterward because I was exhausted and slept for several hours. At your next appointment you will be given the crown which is no big deal at all. I hope this helps to relieve your anxiety. Trust me, you will see, there is no pain in this procedure.
