My jaw cracks all the time?!

Question: It isn't painful or anything and mainly only when I open my mouth wide.
My dentist said it there isn't a need to be worried unless it is painful.
But .. God the cracking sound is annoying. Anything I can do about it?

Try a steam room to loosen your joints and then open and close your mouth slowly while you're inside. If you do not have an accessable steam room you may try with a hot glass of tea but it will not work as well. Also the muscles right above the back of your lower jawbone may be built up and overextending. Try rubbing them :) good luck!

I have the same thing and I have TMJ. The carcking doesn't really hurt. Its a little uncomfortable and annoying but isn't bad. But I get headaches all the time and I saw a TMJ specialist when my dentist was booked and there is a way to do jaw adjustment and therapy but dental insurance rarely pays for it. Sometimes medical insurance will cover it if you have pain or headaches but thats hard to get approved as well. I just put up with it. I've had it for 20 years.

Your jaw is most likely misaligned...not significatly, but very slightly...I dont think there's anything you could do about it that would be worthwhile.

Try a chiropractor! I made the mistake of not telling mine about my TMJ for months, and it took him just 1 adjustment to make it better. Took about 6 weeks after that to get it working close to normal, but my jaw barely pops anymore (and it was popping every time i opened my mouth).

hi... you know sometimes it cause a pain when you open it but don't worry about it you just massage your dew or you must exercise your mouth daily, you must swing your dew side by side..much better you go to doctor..
