Can my doctor prescibe me dental antibiotics?!

Question:

Can my doctor prescibe me dental antibiotics?

cos i dont wanna pay £15.50 for a stinking check up

Answers:

I know from experience that your dentist should prescribe the antibiotics. I once had what I thought was a toothache and a general gum infection. My GP prescribed antibiotics, but they were not correct for my condition, which turned out to be Gingivitis, and I need a longer course of different antibiotics, which meant I spent just as much money on prescriptions, as I would have, had I seen my dentist and paid for a proper consultation. I would not risk doing this agian. Your dentist knows best.
