Question:
Why does my tooth hurt so much?! please help, i'm really scared!!?
about a week ago, i started using a whitening treatment on my front teeth - its not crest whitestrips, just this gel that you put on the front of your tooth
anyway, i have this one too that is REALLY bothering me, it hurts just all over but mostly at the tip of the tooth
it REALLY hurts when i eat cold food or drink something cold, although heat also makes it hurt
sweets dont make it hurt
it hurts REALLY bad, and its the only tooth that is doing that
its only started hurting this much this week, what do i do?!??!??!?!!?!?!?
Answers:
Stop using the bleaching gel for a while.
The "zaps" are a side effect of the carbamide peroxide bleaching agent penetrating the enamel and dentin to do its job-- Getting that deep into the tooth, it's also irritating the living nerve inside your tooth.
Take a break from the bleaching for a while, and the zaps should go away.
The fact that just one tooth is especially sensitive is cause for concern. Getting it looked at by a dentist might be a good idea.
Good luck.
