I want to intern for a dentist?

I would like to job shadow a local doctor/dentist. What should I do to do so? Should I simply call and request to intern? I am 18 yrs. old.

You might want to participate in the American Dental Association's mentoring program. They will be able to put you in touch with dentists in your area who are interested in showing students how things work in the dental field.
