yea its nitrous oxide, while under the effect, you honestly don't care whats going on. You won't start laughing hysterically while under it, but if you look at a dim light for a while, you start to hallucinate a little bit because you imagine things.
All it does is make you WAY more relaxed, more cooperative, and you just don't care wtf is going on. 99% of all dentist offices have laughing gas, so if you feel a little nervous ask for it.
