My tooth is half out?!

Question: Yesterday morning when i woke up my tooth felt funny and then i ate some chocolate (not hard) and it felt really funny like some chocolate was stuck in my tooth so i tried to get it out with my finger and my tooth like popped out and it was half out. I tried to kinda pull it out bud it hurt so i just left it in and now it still in there and I don't want to gross you out but i can like lift it up with my tongue and now i don't know what to do. Is there anyway i can get it out without hurting me?

Thanks!!

Hi Kay Kay,

I am assuming this is a baby tooth you are talking about and not a permanent one....If it is a permanent tooth than you need to go to a dentist..if it is a baby not to worry to much over it..as far as pulling it.....if it is just hanging in there ..it probably has a little piece of skin from the gums clinging to it....if you have any origel you might put this all around the gum than trying pulling on it..this would helped to numb it some...if you don't have origel you could try holding ice on the area for a while it will helped to numb it also....if you leave it alone it will eventually fall out on its own the problem is when..if you are sleeping you are liable to end of swallowing the thing ...it could also happen when you are eating something ....try the ice or origel ....when you think it has a pretty numb feeling give the tooth a good hard tug but do it fast... the more slowly you pull.. the more pain you might end up having....

best of luck to you Kay Kay......

eat an apple

good luck i hated having teeth like that

Leave it where it is and go to the dentist ASAP. He or she may be able to save it. You need to hold on to your permanent teeth if at all possible because each tooth has a job to do and the loss of even one will effect the others. Also, I would be concerned about the tooth coming out pretty much on it's own without any trauma. It could be that you have some gum disease and that needs to be treated as early as possible.

i hope its a baby tooth. if so, let it be until it comes loose and falls out. if its a permanent tooth, for goodness sakes leave it alone!!!!!!!!!! leave it alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i chipped a permanent tooth and it felt like it was going to fall out. I could get the floss clear under the middle of it. It healed though thankfully. Either way good luck. See a dentist you trust if its a permanent tooth.
