Answers:

Oh yeah. This is a common problem with those who get braces, who begin to complain of duck or fish lips. The lips do not naturally meet on their own any longer, and expose parts of the teeth and braces. This situation is this, you now have an appliance in your mouth which takes up more room than the natural structures. Your lips are going to be pushed out slightly more than normal, where as it seems your lips would eventually start to adjust around the braces and meet again there is another obstacle. Braces have a tendency to irritate our soft tissues. So now your lips have trained themselves to not slid easily over your appliance. This you can try to correct by placing dental wax or silicone over the rough spots or even have or orthodontist shave down high points that hurt you then begin to teach your lips to touch until t is more comfortable for you and your mouth. This may work out fine, but if it becomes too much trouble remember your natural structures are smooth and meant to have your lips lie over them. Everything will return to normal after your treatment is complete, after the given amount of recovery time, ya know cracks at the corners, things like that. good luck, and just focus on how beautiful your smile will look when you are finished!
