What to do for a chipped tooth.?!

Question: I chipped my tooth on a beer bottle. (I know, I'm an idiot, and I deserve absolutely no compassion). Its not a bad chip, and to be honest, nobody sees it unless they're 6 inches from my smile. But its a front tooth. Since it is such a small chip, would the dentist file it down until it looks normal again, or would I have to get it filled in?

That is usually up to the dentist or up to you. The dentist can file the tooth for a quick fix so that it isn't causing discomfort or cutting your lip.

Normally the doctor will do a build up on the tooth and just create and mold a small piece to bond to the broken area. This is just like getting a white filling (if you've ever had one). It takes about an hour or so and you'll have a brand new tooth!

Go to the dentist. He will cap it or coat it with something that will make it even again.

my mom's a dental hygienist and i've seen people with chipped teeth before. make an appointment and they'll either file your tooth or cap it or whatever works best for the situation.

if it does not hurt, good for you or the dentist has to do a root cannal. If it does not hurt, he will do a tooth coloured composit filling.

dont' worry...
go to a cosmetic dentist, it will take them less than half an hour to use a resin base material to fill that space and bond it to your tooth ...
but remember! you chew on anything hard from now on with that tooth , that bonding WILL come off!!!
