Is it normal to have pain?!

Question: after having a crown put on , i had a temporary crown done this morning and now that the numbness is gone i have shooting nerve pain.........is that typical?

I had a simmilar problem i think few years back, sometimes when they do the crown thing they mess up the nerve, go back to the dentist, either the nerve has to be taken out or needs infection out, good luck, ooooooh, lol.
