Best pain med for tooth root pain until seing the dentist?!


Question: I have pain the root of my tooth by them gum. I have an apointment to have it removed Saturday. That's so far away!!!

So in the mean time the dentist said take advil or ibuprofin

Does anyone know what would work better cuz advil doesn't help me with anything...and this pain is so sudden and sharp!!!

Sounds like you should be on antibiotics to get rid of/decrease an abscess that's present. If the dentist refuses to see you before Sat, call someone else.

Advil and ibuprofen are one in the same. I love Advil personally. Take one or 2 every 4 to 6 hours. you're not supposed to take more than 6 in a 24 hr period, unless your dentist says it's ok.

I have the same problem right now. Here's what a friend told me and it works.
If your toothache is on the right of your mouth pinch and hold your right ear lobe. If on the left then pinch and hold the left ear lobe. Apparently it has something to do with nerve points.
I remember once seeing on "60 minutes" a lady having a dental procedure done with no anesthetic what so ever. Only a clothespin clipped to her ear lobe.
Try it! Really!!
