How wide can the average person open their mouth?!
Question: I've looked for information on this and can't seem to find anything. So if anyone can answer this for me:
If you hold a standard soda can sideways (the squat kind, not the tall energy-drink kind), can you fit that top ring between your top and bottom teeth? And if so, about how much clearance do you have?
This isn't a perverse question, I just think I have a really small jaw, and I'm trying to see how wide other people can open up. Personally, I can't fit it, so I'd like to know if anyone can.
Or, if anyone has a link to statistical info on this kind of thing, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

If you remember the boy scout salute, where you take the index finger, middle finger and ring finger and place them together. Then try to place them in your mouth at their widest point, that would give you a good idea of what your maximum opening should be. It should be close to 55 mm.
yeah, i've got like 1/2 cm on each side of clearance, but then again, i've had a lot of practice, if you catch my drift
hi
no idea
What problems are you encountering with a small jaw? And why is this an issue for you?
