Will my nightguard crack if it's out of water for too long, or is it just a matt!

Will my nightguard crack if it's out of water for too long, or is it just a matter of it shrinking too much?
I've, er, kinda lost it. Do I need to be freaking out and searching for it or will it be fine to wait until it turns up?
Answers:
If its at room temp it should be ok. If its outside or in a garage where its very hot there may be a little trouble. Good luck and I hope you find it.
