My tooth is sensitive to cold?!

Question: I recently got a filling on one of my teeth. When the woman did work on my tooth, I could feel her blowing air on it and affecting the tooth next to it. I took it without the novacaine shot. 6 Months later that took that was next to the novacaine is still sensitive. Is it a cavity?

The cavity may have been close to the nerve. If the nerve is inflamed you may suffer from pulpitis. The filling may be defective (leaking) or cracked. Additionally you may have recession at the gumline where the exposed root surface is very sensitive to cold, which has nothing to do with the filling at all. Call the dentist for a re-eval.

call the dentist and ask about it on the phone

wait a few weeks if still sensitive then go to doctor

try sensodyne toothepaste

Dentists commonly ask if a patient's teeth are sensitive to hot or cold temperatures. This is usually a sign of cavities.

i thnk u need a cap...call the dentist

i think it is. go for an appoitement to a/your dentist or call him/her. good luck(:

It shouldn't be sensitive after 6 months. You need to call the dentist and get back in there. Something is not right.
