Question: I know that having a tongue ring can ruin your teeth, but I heard that having acrylic jewerly makes a big difference and will not ruin your teeth, is this true?

As soon as my tongue piercing was healed enough to be changed I started wearing acrylic jewelry and that was 10 years ago, the acrylic ball still caused the gums on the back of my bottom teeth to recede. As soon as I noticed this I removed my tongue piercing. I miss it but I love my teeth! I got my nose pierced now and I love it lol.
Biting down on metal jewelry HURTS! I switched to plastic jewelry as soon as I was healed. I would definitely recommend this. Good luck!
if u play with it and clank it on your teeth or bite it it can cause damage but if u are responsible with it then u should be ok no matter what type of stud u have.
change to the acrylic ASAP -- yes the metal can do damage -- besides that fact
every once in a while you will bite onto the bar and the acrylic doesn't hurt even close to the hurt of biting down on the metal
