If you want to lose the fat, stick w/ lean cuts of meat and/or pork, fish, skinless chicken, egg whites, and get most of your carbs from fresh veggies and fruit. Nix on the products made w/ white flour, white sugar, butter, margarine, and lard. Almonds, olives, and avocado are good sources of fat (in limited quantities).
