Yes of course it can. And regular cycling/running will make you eat better instinctively. You'll also feel allot better. And you don't have to stand up the whole time.
Both are very different. Yoga is a form of exercise than helps you physically, mentally as well as spiritually while Pilates is just similar to Aerobics. Up to you which one to follow, but I'd recommend Yoga.
