can all these symptoms be down to poor diet?!
Question: Can all these symptoms be down to poor diet?
The reason i had them is because i have lost some of my hair and now have 2 large bald patches on the top of my head. I also suffer from extreme dry skin around my eyes especially, and often feel weak and shaky. I have awful headaches most days. My menstrual cycle is around 40 days between periods on average as well. Do you think my hair loss, lack of periods, dry skin and headaches could be down to my diet? I wouldn't say my diet is that great but unsure on what else could be causing this?? anybody else had a similar experience? thanks

Hi there
do you eat regular animal proteins ie red meat, chicken, fish as well as dairy foods and nuts? It sounds like you may not be getting enough Iron and Zinc and perhaps some minerals and B12. try to include one of the above at each meal. Low protein intake won't be picked up in a blood test so the only way to treat is increase protein and see if symptoms improve
For info on protein content of foods see my link below.

What you really need to do is see a trichologist (Dr in Hair) you can either get your doctor to refer you or visit trichologist.org
They should be able to tell you what is wrong and why your getting hair loss patches which is called Alopecia Areata, and whether you need treatment like Dianette & Florisene

Do you know what hair is made of, and how it grows?
Good hair:
- Water
- Protein
Bad hair:
- Oil
- Fats
- Chocolate
The exact same goes for your skin and nails.
I know you might be thinking "Oh I'm not THAAAT unhealthy..." but honestly, spend a week jotting down every single thing you eat and I can guarantee your diet really is, honestly, unhealthy.
No - my diet is rubbish as well and I dont suffer from any of those things. Keep going back to your doctor and maybe get referred to a dermatologist for the dry skin/hair loss.
Poor diet and dehydration and wondering why you would think a poor diet would not have consequences.
