it all depends on how dedicated you are to losing weight. if you are willing to fully dedicate your efforts in exercise and eating, it is possible to lose 100 lbs in 8 months. the other 70 pounds will be harder to lose. i would say that in 4 months you may be able to lose the rest but you will certainly be on your way to know how to get there even without your trainer. good luck.
in order to be a personal trainer, you have to get certified. since he is certified, he obviously is well equipped to know what's best and give you the best advice.
