I need to loose 80 pounds, prefferably most of it by june?!

Question: I need to loose 80 pounds, prefferably most of it by june?
I need to loose 80 pounds, most of it for the end of june (prom) and the rest(or more) by septemeber. i'm 5ft 3, 15 years old and weigh just over 170 pounds. Diets or plans please, not much time for exercise, loads of exams and coursework.

Answers:

So to clarify if you lose 80 pounds that'd put you at 90 pounds (underweight) and you want to lose more by September which would put you at severely underweight. I'm the same height and the lowest we can weigh is 106-108 which is 75 pounds or so. I suggest Nutrisystem or Weight Watchers (have you seen Jennifer Hudson now? size 16 to a size 4, d*mn!). If you can then join a gym and go for at least a 1/2 hour or buy p90x or a good workout dvd to do at home.

I've been in your position and the bottom line is you need to figure out how to exercise. Diet alone won't help you drop that much weight. It might work at first, but eventually the effects will slow down. I agree with what some others have said. Do at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. Chances are, you have the time, you just don't realize it (this is true for most of us who "don't have time"). I used to use that excuse all the time. It was just another excuse getting in my way.

Even if you're squeezing it in at different times of the day, it'll be worth it in the end. Trust me.
Also, don't starve yourself. Been there, done that. I gained all the weight back.

You're young, so if you start teaching yourself how to exercise and eat properly, you have a better change at making it a lifestyle change rather than just a goal for prom.

Good luck to you. I know what it's like and I know it's not easy. Do what you have to do and do it the right way the first time so you don't have to do it again.

Personal experience

Both your target and your timescale are unrealistic in the extreme. They basically doom you to crash and burn before you start. Dropping to 90lbs would also mean that you were below the 5th centile, with a BMI of 16 which is almost as unhealthy as being overweight, should you achieve the impossible and reach it.

Average weight loss is only 9-15lbs a year, so this is a long term lifestyle issue, requiring both an appropriate diet and very regular vigorous exercise.

Realistically you must look at this as a long term project in addition that sort of weight loss, perhaps 40lbs might be an option, needs medical supervision and help.

GP for more years than I care to remember

You do not need to lose 80 lbs unless you are in a weight division that you have to make.

You have to lose 50-60 tops. You have 3 months until June - I am guessing 30 lbs should be your goal max (2.3 lbs a week for 13 weeks).

Do 2-3 sets of pushups to max and same with squats 2-3 times a week if you have no weights. Jog 20-30 min a week 3X a week.

Diet is the prime determinant of weight loss. You only lose 150 calories per mile jogged, for example, so it's best that you just put down the chocolate bars rather than live in a gym (after the schoolwork is done).
A combo diet and exercise is what is needed for that target I have listed.

Please don't listen to kooky ideas where you drink a gallon of green tea or eat 10 grapefruits a day. A balanced government food guide type diet adjusted to moderate weight loss is the best way to go.

And no crash dieting cuz if you lose 50 lbs doing that you will end up putting on 60 afterwards and with less muscle (I've seen it a million times).

Do this and you will weigh ~140 and that is ok for now. People will definitely notice and be impressed.

Good luck

At your height and age you should be looking at loosing a maximum of 60 pounds.

With exercise it is possible to loose this in that time, but only just.

There is no way you can do it by diet alone as the only way to do this even for a few weeks is by starvation and this leads to major weight gain if you slip up.

Aim to cut out soda and junk food and take up some form of exercise, at least an hour, 3 times a week (daily would be better).

you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.

1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains, & yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, & milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.

(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer ((Very cheap)) and a rice cooker as makes it very easy to prepare healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil and pepper, spices on top of steamed vegeatables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are healthy too.)

"Put down the fork. FACE!"

But seriously it's easy, just eat less. Eat whatever you want, just keep it under a total of 2000 Calories per day. i.e. eat 1500 calories per day and you will lose a decent amount of weight over time. If you only had 1000 calories per day you would lose even more weight. To satisfy your hunger, drink water it works.

An average daily diet should consist of 2000 calories, for if you intend to stay the same weight. If you have more than 2000 calories (on average) you will gain weight. It's not that hard at all but try to have a balanced diet but the main thing is the calories.

Family Guy [the quote] (not the serious part).

As anyone will tell you, while weight loss is difficult, the formula is actively relatively simple, you have to eat less calories than you expend, and no fancy diet pill is going to change that. However, as you probably already know, it’s the eating less that’s the hard part. Therefore, I recommend an appetite suppressant, which will make you feel less hungry, making it easier to eat less. Luckily for you, one of the top natural appetite suppressants, ProshaperX, is currently offering a free trial of their product. Here’s the link for the free order page:

My neighbor lost 92lbs and she started dieting last Oct. She never had much energy in the beginning so she started taking phentermine (prescription-appetite suppr) which helped her lose the first 25lbs. Her Dr only gave her a months supply to get her started but after losing the 25lbs she had more energy and she began walking twice a day (morn-evening). She's also taking Alli (over the counter) and Chromium picolinate (supplement) daily. I hope this info helps. Good luck!

There's no way you can lose 80 pounds without exercising. And no time is no excuse. I work and have COLLEGE exams and homework to worry about but still find at least an hour a day to work out. It all just depends how much you want it.

No time for exercise? you don't have 30 Min's a day spare?

its that kind of attitude that's got you the your weight...

a fast walk 45 Min's a day and a healthy diet with no food past 6pm will drop you lots of weight
