can i use deadlifts and leg presses instead of squats?!


Question: Can i use deadlifts and leg presses instead of squats?
i dont have good form when i squat and i want to jump higher soi know leg presses help leg strength and deadlifts strengthen almost everything squats do.

you need to squat if you want to jump higher.

you should definitely work on your form on squats, both leg press and dead lift work your legs in a similar motion, but you will see a much greater improvement in jumping if you are squatting.

deadlift helps legs, but is more of a lower back exercise, and you are wasting energy on lower back if you are just trying to strengthen your legs.

also squats are a much more focused exercise and will specifically target your jumping muscles vs. deadlift which will target everything. faster results will come from pinpointed weight training.

also be sure to use plyometric training. One legged squats with dumbbells will really help your jumping a lot.

as for leg press. that hardly counts as an exercise. :)

no, you can leg press to increase jumping, really any exercise with legs will help jumping, but squats will get you the best and fastest results.

also train your calves a lot.
