Doing crunches is only a small part of the solution. You need to have a well rounded workout and diet which is the major part of the solution to getting built abs.

To get abs you need cardio and diet. If you have a layer of fat covering the abs you could do all the crunches in the world and still wont see your abs. Crunches are a must but to see your abs you need cardio and cut back on your calories. crunches will build your ab muscles. So if you want big ab muscles like a bodybuilder you need to do crunches along with diet and cardio if you have a layer of fat on your stomach
You first have to lose the layer of fat in frnt of your stomach muscele. Its hard to believe, but everyone ( cept for most women) have a lot of stomach muscele.
Its just covered in a layer of fat
If you do crunches and stuff like that, your just gonna build more muscele and your stomach;s gonna look bulky.
First do cardio for a few months to burn the fat, and then switch to weight building
