Question: Post workout carb sources?
After my weight training workout i have a pure protein bar that has 20g protein and 17g carb, 180-200 calories....20g is enough protein but what should be my other source for carbs? I dont want to be eating a slice of wheat bread with a chocolate/ peanut butter bar

Lowfat chocolate milk has actually been shown to be one of the best post-workout recovery drinks. It has the perfect mix of carbs, protein and fat.

Protein bars are ok too, just watch the sugar content, as some can have as much sugar and saturated fat as a candy bar. If you want something with carbs to eat with it, you could have a glass of fat free/lowfat milk, or a piece of fresh fruit. Other good sources of protein for post-recovery include lean meats (chicken breast, ground beef/turkey, etc), eggs/egg whites, nuts/nut butters, fish (salmon, canned tuna fish, etc), fat free/low fat cottage cheese, and greek yogurt.

Best of luck
