Any tips for first time jogging?!


Question: Any tips for first time jogging?
I want to start jogging as its the best way to burn cals and lose fat. But im 250lbs (17st 13) and only ever use the elliptical machine at the gym. When i start up in the morning, how should i go about doing this. I know i will most probably die, but no pain no gain right.

I don't necessarily agree that jogging is the "best" way to burn calories and lose fat, but if you're determined to jog, try this: start slowly. Take small steps for the first 5-10 minutes, then push yourself a little harder for 10-15 minutes or so. Walk or jog very slowly to cool down for 5 minutes or so (this is important).

Next time you're at the gym look at the elliptical machine and see if it has an interval setting. If it does, give it a try. You'll sweat like crazy and it won't kill your knees like jogging can.
