Lost 150+lbs, but now I have excess skin. D:?!

Question: Lost 150+lbs, but now I have excess skin. D:?
I am 20 years old and about three months ago I was at 256lbs, and now I'm around 135, the problem is that there are bits of sagging skin everywhere on my body. I can stretch it really far, it's creepy. :|
I plan to get down to 125 but this is frightening me. Is there anything I can do to prevent more from popping up? And what can I do about what's here now?

Answers:

Unfortunately because the skin was stretched out so much from the extra weight there is nowhere for it to go now.
The only way to sort of prevent this is by lsing the weight slowly but 150 lb is a lot and you are just bound to have excess skin with that amount of weight loss.
The only way to get rid of it is to have an abdominalplasty (tummy tuck) you can have a modified one so that they will only cut excess skin and tighten only weak abdominal wall muscles so that you have a smaller scar. Nowadays good doctors will make the incision super low so that it is barely visible.

Also- insurance will only cover(if you are approved and your health must be proven to be in danger of because of the excess skin) the portion that removes the excess skin, it is called a panniculectomy so basically they would be adjusting your belly button but it includes the excess skin being removed. they will NOT cover the abdominal wall tightening which most people still need.

I work for a plastic surgeon

Judging from the accelerated rate of weight loss I'm guessing you had gastric bypass surgery. The excess skin is a common result of that kind of drastic weight loss because the skin does not have time to regain it's elasticity before losing the supporting fat cells. The only thing you can do is work out to tighten and tone. It will definitely take a while but aside from plastic surgery, it's your only possible course of action.

Good luck.

Surgery.. Health insurance DOES and WILL cover this because the lose skin can cause health issues
