Hi,

out of the whole abdominals the lower ones are the hardest to tighten and tone. Firstly nutrition plays a major role in having abs appear, yoiu need to burn some calories to lessen the fat, sometimes it will come off other areas of your body first so just be patient.
Secondly, you need to really do some core exercises, anythin that has your legs in the air will target your lower abs and pelvic floor. Look up lower ab exercises and truly MIX IT UP, the abs are the laziest muscles in the body, once they get used to a certain exercises they progress screeches to a halt. Change your exercises regularly, change the tempo at which your move and play with rep and set numbers to keep those abs guessing.
Also add in plank exercises, work your way up to a minute and more and when that becomes too easy do different variations. Plank is ranked one of the most effective core exercises, its hard but don't let it wear you down.
As for the hernia, I have known people with hernias and yes it does sort of sag out but only a small area where the area is, if your whole lower tummy is sticking out then it is probably a case of mixing good nutritionn with mixed up core and ab exercises

Good luck and happy training :)

Hanging crunches, and eating right, of course. Try:
Running (try for 1 mile walking, then add 1 mile every 2 weeks.)
Hanging crunches (grab a pullup bar, as if you were going to do pullups, but just hang there. Put your legs together and bend your knees so your not touching the ground, then pull (using your abs) up your legs, until they're as high as you can get them, then let them down, but stay hanging. You've just done 1 rep.) go for 100 reps every other day. Not all at once, like this:
20, 15, 15, 10, 10, 5, 5, 5, 5. Rest, as long as it takes, in-between sets.

Cardio!! You could a hundred crunches a day, and it still wouldnt get rid of the flab. You need a mixture of cardio, and strength training and you will see the results :) Tummy fat is very stubborn. I know from experience!

Hello Lydia,

There are programs out there that will assist you with flattening your stomach. Online has a few digital download that are good. Good luck,

Aaron
