Eating tips when working out to lose weight?!


Question: Eating tips when working out to lose weight!?
So I have an underactive thyroid so after I take my medicine I must wait an hour to eat!. so what I do is go to the gym in the morning takes close to an hour to get there!. I eat ususally a bananna or granola bar before working out!. After about a 45 minute to 1hour workout I usually have breakfast at work such as granola!. I'm noticing however I'm hungrier all the time and I want to figure out any easy and healthy ideas for eating so that I don't over eat as I am trying to lose weight!. I typically try to snack throughout the day and eat lean cuisine meals!. Generally I'm doing well I have a splurge meal once a week to keep from craving too much!. I need snack and breakfast ideas!. I tend to be hungry all the time and crave meat a lot!. I want to eat more than just almonds but I don't want to get cravings so bad that I go out and buy a greasy burger!. Any suggestions could help!. Really want to know what would help my cravings and body without reducing the weight loss effect!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am in the same battle, trying to lose the last of my post-pregnancy pounds!. Here is what I have found works for me as far as cuving cravings:

SNACK IDEAS - baby carrots, Sunchips, Wheat thins, and pretzels are great for giving you the "chip" fix!. They are crunchy, but lower in fat and calories!. Also, low fat string cheese for protein!.

Granola, trailmix, fruits, celery with peanut butter, apple slices and caramel dip (which can be found low fat), 3-4 Nilla wafers or graham crackers, or one hershey's kiss to help a sweet tooth!. These are a lot better than donuts and cookies, etc!.

BREAKFAST IDEAS - Special k cereal with skim milk, oatmeal, toast with margarine or honey and berries/grapefruit, a boiled egg, bagel with peanut butter, grits with cheese!.

Protein helps curve your appetite and jumpstarts your metabolism, so try and have it in some form for breakfast!.

Also, when I can, I try to start each meal or snack with 8oz of water or skim milk to help fill me and limit my portions!.

most important thing, never let your body feel like its starving!.!.!. this will alert you body that it needs to start storing fat to keep you healthy!. If your hungry, EAT, but just enough to satisfy!.!.!. don't ever get yourself stuffed, this is worst than starving!. A habit of eating is closing your eyes, and savor/chew your food, this will actually get you full faster, and you'll be surprised at how much you really eat!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

The body is designed to take care of itself!. Your stomach is the size of the palm of your hand so if ever you eat more food in one sitting than fits in your hand, you are overeating!.
Begin your day with oatmeal, it will stay with you longer throughout the day!. Eat 3 nutritional meals a day, spread throughout the day!. Don't let your stomach feel too hungry or you'll overeat and feel stuffed and miserable!.
Everything you do eat, eat it very slow and chew every bite very slow and savor every flavor!. Don't ever gulp anything down!.
Don't ever eat anything for 3 hours before you go to sleep because your body goes into a fix mode as soon as you fall asleep and that includes fat burning!.
Take a good multivitamin, B-complex and Chromium Picolinate to aid in cravings and the processing of sugars!.
Don't drink sodas which have no nutritional value what-so-ever and don't consume caffeine!. Caffeine raises your blood pressure and your body slows the metabolism to compensate!.
Don't forget to play!. Run, skip, jump a rope, swing, swim, play ball and dance, dance, dance!.
Eating slow is the way to eat!. It should take you 45 min to 1 hour just to eat a dinner the size of your palm and you'll stay fuller longer because that in itself speeds your metabolism!.
For the rest of your life, just eat the right size portions very slowly and you'll never have a problem!.

Fruits, lots of fruits!. The fiber keeps you full & it's healthy!. Keep a bowl of grapes at your desk!.

Try Kashi cereals & the GoLean products!. Very satisfying for craving sweet stuff!.

Of course vegis, too!. Experiment, you'll be surprised what you actually like!. I'll save you the money on trial & error, eat Hidden Valley Fat Free Ranch, it taste the best!. I use to avoid all fruit & vegis!. Now it's all I eat!. It's candy to me!. Eat cherry tomatos like grapes, so addictive!. Don't listen to those people who say, don't eat fruits first thing in the morning, or don't just eat fruits, it's bad for you!. I've heard it all!. Fruits are healthy!.
